That is the secret most of us forget. Quilters do not need big gestures. We notice. A comment that says that color combination is perfect. A scrap of fabric tucked in an envelope. A message that says I saw your work and it made my day. Small things land softly and stay.

No guarantee anyone sees it. Just the promise that you showed up today and made it anyway.

There's a specific hour I know too well. The day after I've handed someone a quilt, when it's already theirs, already out of my hands, and I catch myself replaying the look on their face when they opened it, searching for proof I read it right. Did they actually love it, or were they just being kind. Was the size right. Will it end up folded in a closet by Christmas?
