Adding a personalized label, chosen and made specifically for a quilt design, for someone special, or to mark this time in your life can sometimes feel like you’re stuck in another creative circle. You’ve got a beautiful quilt, ready to use or gift, but instead of ending this quilt’s journey with a a definite, final design that hits the mark, you’re stuck for ideas.

It’s hard to get to the end without giving your quilt the send-off you imagined, honoring you, the work you put into it, or recognizing the person you’re gifting it to, and adding a signature to be remembered today and into the future.

Simple ideas to inspire your creativity

Say goodbye to the tedious process of trying to decide on an imaginative quilt label, only to give in to a simple, uninspired design. With a treasure trove of creative labels that have been made, patterns in a variety of techniques (EPP, FPP, patchwork, embroidery, and even a dip into using Canva), along with inspiration for choosing/imagining designs as you work through your quilts (or while you’re scrolling online), you can create quilt labels that fit your personality (or that of the person who will receive the quilt), follow your signature style, and honor the work of your hands. This means you will be ready to dive straight in to labeling your current project or tackle your previously made quilts the moment inspiration strikes.

It’s straightforward, user-friendly, and lets you focus on your quilts, the meaning behind them, and the legacy you want to remain. In this self-paced course, I’ll walk you through a variety of designs and where to look for inspiration, the resources needed to get the finished look, patterns, and a quick dive into Canva for printer-ready labels, and more.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to make the labels each day? The lessons are self-paced. You can follow along each day, pausing as needed. You will have 24-month access to the course, so you can work on them at your convenience, when inspiration strikes, or to review a design at a later date.

Do I need to purchase Canva Pro to make labels? NO! Canva has a FREE option with loads of resources. To follow along on the day the workshop is released, you may want to have an account set up (FREE) and the app downloaded to your desktop or iPad to be able to work through the design options, inspiration, or the designs and templates I share with you.

Will you teach us how to use Canva? Yes and No. I will share how to get started, features to look for, what I use for the sample designs and a bit more, but it will not cover everything Canva. There are tutorials available online and within the app once you download it and sign in.

What supplies do I need each day? A complete supply list covering the daily courses will be sent to all registered participants on Sunday, January 21. You can have them on hand to begin as soon as the course is released, or choose what you would like to have on hand (if it isn’t already in your quilting stash) when you are ready to begin specific projects.
