Sweet Little Quilts Presents
SWEET STITCHES
A Hand Quilting Workshop Series
There's a quilt top on my worktable that's been waiting for nearly a century.
Someone pieced it by hand with small stitches, careful corners, fabrics that tell the story of a particular time and place. And then, for reasons I'll never know, it was tucked away. Unfinished. I found it on eBay. Ninety years old, in beautiful condition, still waiting. Now it's time to finish what she started.
Here's the thing.
I'm a longarm quilter. I quilt professionally, on a machine, every day. But for this quilt, I'm choosing something different. I'm choosing slow. I'm choosing my hands, a needle, thread, and the kind of time that can't be rushed.
And I'm inviting you to join me.
Welcome to The Keeping Room
The Keeping Room is where heirloom skills stay alive. Where we gather to learn the kind of work that's worth passing down. Where slow is the point.
Slow Stitches is our first series … a free, live, hand quilting workshop designed to give you everything you need to begin (or return to) the quiet, meditative art of quilting by hand.
What We'll Cover
Over five sessions, we'll explore the techniques, tools, and rhythms of hand quilting:
Hoops, frames, and going without—finding what works for your hands and your project
Needles, thread, and thimbles—the tools that matter (and the ones that don't)
The rocking stitch, metal to metal, and other traditional methods—building your technique
The divide-and-conquer mindset—a little each day, and you'll finish quietly but quickly
Real talk—what I'm learning as I go, what's working, what I'm adjusting
This isn't about perfection. It's about practice. It's about picking up a skill that's been quietly slipping away and keeping it alive with your own two hands.
The Schedule
All sessions are live on Zoom at 3:00 pm EST and will be recorded if you can't join in real time.

A note from me!
I've spent years building hand stitching skills … learning, researching, practicing. But I've never hand quilted something this size. Ninety inches square. Weeks of work, maybe months.
This is my dedicated practice. And I'd love company along the way.
Bring your questions. Bring your curiosity. Bring that project you've been putting off because you weren't sure where to start. Let's keep this art alive, together.
From my heart,
Debbie
